TRON Wallet Import & Export: Moving Between Wallets Safely
Importing a wallet is safe when done right and catastrophic when the seed leaks. The difference is context: typing your seed inside a trusted app is normal; typing it anywhere else is not.
Here's the safe import/export playbook.
To import: install the new wallet, choose 'Import wallet', enter your 12/24-word seed phrase (offline, in the app only), and the address/balances appear. Never enter the seed into websites. Export is the same flow in reverse.
Why importing works
Wallets don't store your funds — the blockchain does. Importing your seed into any TRON wallet recovers the same address and balances. That's the beauty of self-custody: your wallet app is replaceable.

The safe import flow
1. Install the new wallet from official sources. 2. Choose 'Import wallet'. 3. Enter the seed phrase carefully (spaces and order matter). 4. Verify the address matches. 5. Test with a small transfer.
Do this on a device you trust, offline from any screen-sharing or recording.
Exporting: the seed is the export

The risks to avoid
Never import into: websites, browser extensions from unknown publishers, 'support' tools, or anywhere that asks for the seed over chat. Phishing pages clone real wallet apps — verify the URL and publisher.

Multi-wallet sync patterns
Many users run the same wallet on TronLink (mobile) and TronLink (extension) via the same seed. That's fine — both read the same on-chain funds. Just remember: more copies of the seed = more attack surface.
