How Much Energy Does Each TRON Transaction Use?
Every article on this site quotes '65,000 energy' for a USDT transfer — but that's just one point on a spectrum. Knowing the whole table helps you budget energy for any activity.

Why USDT is 65,000
The Tether USDT contract performs a handful of operations per transfer: balance updates, event emission, fee checks. TRON meters that work at ~65,000 energy. It's a stable figure for the main contract — which is why we use it as the site's baseline.

Calculating cost from energy
Cost = energy × SUN price ÷ 1,000,000. At burn price (100 SUN): 65,000 → 6.5 TRX; 130,000 → 13 TRX. At rental (26 SUN): 65,000 → 1.69 TRX; 130,000 → 3.38 TRX.

TRON refunds unused energy from a transaction's reserved budget in some cases, but for standard transfers consumption is close to the metered amount. Don't rely on refunds — size for the table above plus 10% headroom.
