How to Use a TRON Energy Calculator (Sizing Made Simple)
The most common fee mistake isn't skipping rental — it's renting the wrong amount. A calculator turns guesswork into a 10-second answer.
Here's the formula behind every energy calculator, and how to use it for your own transfers.
Energy sizing formula: transfers × 65,000 × 1.1 (headroom) = energy to rent. Cost = energy × SUN price ÷ 1,000,000 TRX. Example: 5 transfers → 5 × 65,000 × 1.1 = 357,500 energy ≈ 8.6 TRX at 24 SUN.
The sizing formula
Energy to rent = (number of transfers) × 65,000 × 1.1. The 1.1 (10%) covers consumption variance. For 5 transfers: 357,500 energy. For 20: 1,430,000. For 50: 3,575,000.
Round UP to the nearest platform increment — running short mid-batch costs more than rounding up.
The cost formula
Rental cost (TRX) = energy × SUN ÷ 1,000,000. At 24 SUN: 357,500 × 24 ÷ 1M = 8.58 TRX. At 26 SUN: 9.30 TRX. The same 5-transfer batch burns 32.5 TRX without energy — the calculator makes the 76% saving visible.

Mixing transfer types
If your batch mixes USDT (65,000) with other tokens (65k–130k) or contract calls (30k–1M+), sum each type separately. The reference table is in our consumption guide.
When unsure, use the heaviest type for the whole batch — over-estimating by a little is cheap insurance.
Adjusting for real usage
After a few sessions, compare planned vs actual energy (TRONSCAN shows usage per transaction). If you consistently use 10% less than sized, trim the headroom; if you occasionally overshoot, raise it.
