The 1,500-point free allowance
Every TRON account gets 1,500 bandwidth points per day, refreshed at the daily reset. Simple transactions draw from this pool instead of burning TRX. A plain TRX transfer uses ~257 points; a USDT transfer ~345 (on top of its energy cost).
For most users: the free allowance covers a handful of small operations per day. For pure TRX movers, it covers ~5–6 transfers before overflow.
What happens when it runs out
When your bandwidth pool hits zero, the network burns a small amount of TRX to cover each transaction's bandwidth cost. The amount is tiny (fractions of a TRX per transfer) compared to energy burns — but over thousands of transfers it adds up.
This is why bandwidth matters for high-volume TRX senders, not USDT users.
Staking for bandwidth
Freezing TRX for bandwidth earns ~0.5 bandwidth points per TRX. Freeze 10,000 TRX → ~5,000 points/day → ~19 plain TRX transfers beyond the free allowance. Modest stakes make plain-TRX activity essentially free.
