The mechanics: someone fronts the energy
When you use a gas-free service, you hand over your transaction details (typically via a QR-code flow or by connecting a wallet) and the service submits the transfer using energy it rented or staked. Your wallet never needs an energy pool, so no TRX is burned from your balance.

Gas-free services charge a fee: typically 1–5 USDT per transfer for small amounts, or a percentage for larger ones. The underlying energy costs them ~1.56–1.69 TRX per transfer; the rest is their margin and convenience premium.
